Four Robotics Companies Announce Price Hikes On July 1

Four robotics companies "pile up" to announce price hikes on July 1

Since the beginning of 2022, the robotics industry has seen a tide of price increases. On July 1 alone, four robotics companies implemented new prices for their products after the price hike.

On June 27, Efort's official WeChat released an official letter announcing an increase in product prices: Due to the impact of multiple factors, chip and raw material prices, labor costs, and logistics costs continue to rise and lead to an overall increase in robot costs, the prices of all its robot products have been increased by 3%-10% since July 1. To ensure stable supply, the company has decided to implement the above price adjustment.

In order to offset the impact of external factors on gross margin, Estun also adopted price increases and increased domestic substitution of electronic components, which led to an increase in gross margin in the first quarter of 2022. Since July 1, Estun's full range of robotics prices increased by 5%-8%, which is Estun's second "price increase" since this year.

Previously, on June 7, Peitian Robotics issued a notice of industrial robot price adjustment: mainly due to the general environment, shortage of chips and other materials, raw material prices continue to rise, in order to ensure a sustainable and stable supply in the future, Peitian Robotics decided to increase the price of some robot products from July 1, 2022, with an average increase of 3-8%.

In addition to the domestic robot head enterprises to meet the price increase tide, foreign robot giants price increase is also one after another.

Yaskawa full range of industrial robots products on July 1, 2022, the corresponding price increase of 10%.

Industrial robot price increases, the reasons for this, in the external environment, by the cost and supply and demand, such as upstream raw materials rise, trade war, Russia-Ukraine war and the epidemic and other reasons. One of the key factors that have a greater impact is that the price of chip-based electronic materials has been rising due to tight supply prices, while at the same time upstream chip suppliers have extended the delivery period mostly to more than 52 weeks, with the longest increase to more than 80 weeks, as the core components of industrial robots, directly leading to a number of robot manufacturers have to extend the delivery cycle, with certain best-selling models or large load products out of stock more prominent.

Domestic and foreign robot head manufacturers occupy a higher market share and customer acceptance, but in the general environment has also been under great profitability pressure, so companies with a stable enough market and customers and a relatively high voice, the first to take action to increase prices.
